Rays Television

The Rays television partner, SUN Sports, airs a minimum of 150 Rays games. All games are available throughout Florida's 7 million-plus cable TV homes in standard definition and HD. Dewayne Staats anchors the Emmy Award-winning Sun Sports telecast and has been the play-by-play TV voice of the Rays since the team's inception in 1998. He is joined by color analyst Brian Anderson, in-game reporter Todd Kalas, and pre- and postgame hosts Barry Lebrock and Orestes Destrade. The Rays have a close working relationship with SUN Sports and have the ability to seamlessly integrate TV spots, features and live reads into game broadcasts.

Rays Radio

The Rays Radio Network is owned and operated by the Tampa Bay Rays and is the only source for local and regional play-by-play coverage of all 162 games. The flagship station is 620 WDAE (Clear Channel-Sports Talk) with one of the most powerful AM signals in the state. The Rays Radio Network has grown to 21 affiliates nationally.

Rays Radio airs the following programming:

  • All 162 regular season games including pre- and postgame shows, as well as any potential postseason games
  • "This Week in Rays Baseball" airs Sunday prior to the Rays Radio pregame show and takes an in-depth look at the team on and off the field
  • "Rays Countdown to Opening Day" preseason special hour-long program, featuring player and coach interviews
  • Select Spring Training games

Play-by-Play broadcast team Dave Wills and Andy Freed have shared the booth since 2004. Between them, they have called more than 2,000 Rays games, including each playoff contest in the franchise's history.

Neil Solondz joined the Rays Radio broadcast team in 2012 after serving as the play-by-play broadcaster for the AAA Durham Bulls for eight seasons. Neil hosts the pregame, postgame and "This Week in Rays Baseball" broadcasts.

The Rays also own and operate the Rays Spanish broadcast that can be heard on two stations in the market, WGES 680 AM airs more than 100 games and WAMA 1550 ESPN Deportes airs all Rays games on Sunday. These Spanish broadcasts also provide the feed for the SAP television feature during all Rays home games.

Radio Remotes

Rays Radio Remotes and Watch Parties at partner locations are increasingly popular to drive traffic, increase enthusiasm for the Rays and their partners and allow fans to personally interact with members of the Rays broadcasting team.

Watch Parties include extensive promotion on Rays radio, in-ballpark and digital assets. Rays Street Team on-site activation includes premium item and ticket giveaways and interaction with team mascot, Raymond. Watch Party broadcast exposure includes live on-site broadcast of pregame and postgame shows as well as in-game live mentions and 30-second commercials.
