The Advanced Camp for boys and girls ages 14 to 17 was held from August 10 - 14 and was designed for amateur athletes who were looking to take their game to the next level and capture the attention of collegiate and professional coaches. The camp was run like a Major League tryout with professional scouts from the Rays front office and local high school and college coaches in attendance. Additionally, the Rays Baseball Camps continued to offer Satellite Hitting Clinics in Orlando, Port Charlotte and Bradenton.
New this year, the Rays offered a softball camp that featured current and former Division 1 softball players and coaches. The camp concluded with a motivational speech from two-time Olympic gold medalist and Team USA captain, Dot Richardson.
Each camper received an official Rays Baseball Camp T-shirt, hat, complimentary ticket to four select Rays home games, Rays Baseball Camp graduation certificate and the opportunity to participate in a camp parade before a Rays game at Tropicana Field.
The Rays Baseball Camps continue to be the best way to learn how to play the Rays way!
