Rays return home for weekend series vs. Athletics followed by three-game set against Yankees

Giveaways include Astro Bobblehead and Joe Maddon Gnome

The Tampa Bay Rays begin a six-game homestand on Friday, April 19, with a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics (April 19-21) followed by a three-game set with the New York Yankees (April 22-24).

The homestand will also feature three unique giveaways.  On Saturday, April 20, the first 15,000 fans will receive a free MLB Network drawstring bag presented by Bright House Networks.  On Sunday, April 21, kids 14 and under will receive a bobblehead version of Rays lefthander David Price's famous dog, Astro.  This giveaway, presented by DEX Imaging, will be available upon entry while supplies last.  To close out the homestand on Wednesday, April 24, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Joe Maddon Gnome presented by Sun Sports.

Coinciding with the Astro Bobblehead, Sunday's 1:40 p.m. contest against Oakland will also serve as the Rays first of three Bark in the Park games during the 2013 season.  Hundreds of dogs will be on-hand-with their owners-in the sold-out tbt* Party Deck.  Tampa Bay Times Family Fun Day activities will also go on throughout the day.

The Rays open their three-game series against the Yankees on Monday, April 22, in conjunction with an Earth Day celebration.  Fans can purchase a discounted Earth Day seat in the Press Level Reserved and receive a Tampa Bay Watch/Rays hat for $35 (a $56 value).  Proceeds of each Earth Day ticket will benefit the "Break A Bat, Plant A Ball" program (tampabaywatch.org/?pageID=341).  Tickets can be purchased through the Rays special events ticket page (raysbaseball.com/specialevents).

Also on Monday, reigning Cy Young Award winner Price will be presented with his 2012 Players Choice American League Outstanding Pitcher Award.  This is Price's second Players Choice Award after claiming the same honor in 2010.

TAMPA BAY TIMES FAMILY FUN DAY- Every Rays Sunday home game will feature free parking for cars with four or more passengers and a variety of activities for kids on the concourse, all now free courtesy of the Tampa Bay Times.  Don't miss Kids Run the Bases and Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby after the game.
