MIAMI -- Fernando Rodney secured the Dominican Republic's 2-0 victory over Puerto Rico on Saturday, keeping the Dominicans undefeated in World Baseball Classic play.
Rodney, 35, allowed a two-out double to Mike Aviles before getting Eddie Rosario to ground out to second.
It was Rodney's fifth save in six World Baseball Classic appearances. The Rays' closer has not been scored upon in tournament play.
Rodney's save earned the Dominican Republic the pool's top seed. The Dominicans will face the Kingdom of the Netherlands on Monday at AT&T Park in San Francisco. The game airs on MLB Network and ESPN Deportes at 9 p.m. ET.
The D.R lost twice to the Dutch in the 2006 Classic.
"I think that we are not thinking of the past," Rodney. "That was an experience we went through. The important thing is to go to San Francisco just like we have done here and to play there and to thank God because we got to the next round."
