Rays Return For A Seven-Game Homestand

vs. The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics

ST. PETERSBURG, FL-The Tampa Bay Rays begin a seven-game homestand on Monday, April 30, with a four-game series against the Seattle Mariners (April 30-May 3) followed by a three-game set with the Oakland Athletics (May 4-6).

On Monday, April 30, balloting for the 83rd All-Star Game will begin at Tropicana Field.  This marks the fourth consecutive year the Rays feature their in-stadium All-Star ballot contest, rewarding the fans who turn in the most ballots during each home game and homestand.  The contest will run through June 13, spanning 23 home games.  Each night fans who enter at least 100 ballots will have the opportunity to win prizes consisting of tickets to select Rays home games and Rays memorabilia.  In addition to the raffle, the top three winners from each homestand will receive two Hancock Bank Club 105 tickets good for a Monday through Thursday game this season (excluding NYY/ BOS).  The 2012 All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, the home of the Kansas City Royals.

On Saturday, May 5, fans can celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Tropicana Field during the Rays-Athletics game and enjoy drink specials including Dos Equis and $5 Margaritas (must be 21 or older to purchase), as well as in-stadium festivities.

The homestand will feature two unique giveaways.  On Friday, May 4, the first 10,000 women will receive a free Carlos Peña T-shirt presented by the Tampa Bay Times.  Collectible T-shirts will be distributed throughout the season on Free Shirt Friday which is part of Friday Fest presented by Captain Morgan.  On Sunday, May 6, the first 10,000 kids 14 and under will receive Joe Maddon Sunglasses presented by Match-Up Promotions.

TAMPA BAY TIMES FAMILY FUN DAY (every Sunday home game)-Bring the whole family out to Tropicana Field and enjoy family-friendly activities and a chance to run the bases after the game presented by Find the Fun Now.  Family Fun Day tickets start at $23 and include a hot dog, Pepsi and snack (subject to availability).  Visit raysbaseball.com for details.  Ticket prices increase $3 five hours prior to each game and are subject to change at the Rays discretion.  Special promotional giveaways are given to the first 10,000 kids 14 and under in attendance.
