Kazmir solid in final spring outing

Rays' ace throws three solid innings in loss to Phillies

Devil Rays at the plate: Tampa Bay scored its only two runs in the seventh inning, on RBI singles by Jorge Velandia and Dustan Mohr. Brendan Harris started that frame by singling.

Phillies at the plate: Jimmy Rollins laced two hits and drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jayson Werth added a home run. Wes Helms, Pat Burrell, Abraham Nunez, Jason Jaramillo and Greg Dobbs all recorded hits during Philadelphia's four-run fifth inning.

Devil Rays on the mound: Scott Kazmir went three innings in his final tune-up before the regular season. The Opening Day starter allowed one run on five hits and two walks, with four strikeouts.

Phillies on the mound: Brett Myers breezed through his final workout before April 2, tossing six shutout innings. He surrendered three hits, walked two and struck out seven.

Grapefruit League records: Devil Rays 9-17-1; Phillies 11-16-2.

Up next: The Rays will travel to Fort Myers on Thursday afternoon to play the Red Sox at 1:05 ET. Right-hander Edwin Jackson will start for the Rays, his first start since being named the team's No. 5 starter. Right-hander Clay Buchholz will start for the Red Sox.
