The Tampa Bay Rays have announced a joint promotion with the Richard and Sharon Sanchez Family Foundation to help Tampa Bay-area children in need receive eye exams and eyeglasses this season. In the "Caught Looking" program, the first called strikeout recorded by Rays pitchers in each game will sponsor complimentary eye exams and pairs of glasses at Eye Associates of Pinellas to a needy child.

To learn more about this program or register a nonprofit group, please contact the Richard and Sharon Sanchez Family Foundation at (727) 538-7719.

The Richard and Sharon Sanchez Family Foundation was formed in 2008 as a Florida Charitable Trust. The Foundation's main focus is to provide benefits for underprivileged children living in the Tampa Bay area and present them with opportunities that would not otherwise be available to them. The nonprofit foundation has provided financial assistance to various nonprofit entities throughout the state of Florida. Additionally, it has provided educational scholarships to financially needy college-bound students. Organizations that have received funds include: Operation Homefront, Prevent Blindness Florida, Prevent Blindness America, Moffitt Cancer Center, Children's Dream Fund and The American Red Cross, Tampa Bay Chapter. Most recently, the Foundation has provided initial funding to bring "Gaspar-A Pirate Fantasy," a ballet production celebrating Gasparilla, back to Tampa on January 30, 2011 after 16 years.

Located in Pinellas Park, Fla., Eye Associates of Pinellas is one of the largest specialty groups in the Tampa Bay area. It offers complete comprehensive and medical eye examinations. The board-certified physicians on staff treat diseases of the retina, cataracts, glaucoma and more. It also offers cosmetic procedures and has a licensed aesthetician on staff for skincare needs. Eye Associates of Pinellas offers the latest styles of eyewear in its optical department.
