  • Astros announce additions to 2015 Major League coaching staff

    The Houston Astros have announced four new additions to their 2015 Major League coaching staff by naming Trey Hillman as bench coach, Dave Hudgens as hitting coach, Gary Pettis as third base coach and outfield/baserunning instructor, and Rich Dauer as first base coach and infield instructor.

  • A.J. Hinch to be inducted into Stanford University Athletics Hall of Fame

    New Astros Manager A.J. Hinch will be inducted into the Stanford University Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, during which he and seven other inductees will be honored in a private ceremony. Additionally, Hinch and the other inductees will be introduced tonight at Stanford Stadium during halftime of the Cardinal's football game against Washington State (8 p.m. CT).

  • Astros outright Guzman, Owens

    The Houston Astros have outrighted first baseman Jesus Guzman and left-handed pitcher Rudy Owens off the club's 40-man roster, General Manager Jeff Luhnow announced today.

  • Orbit Selected to Join MLB All-Stars Japan Tour

    Popular Astros mascot Orbit has been selected by Major League Baseball to join the All-Star team taking part in the 2014 Japan All-Star Series in November. He was the only mascot selected for the trip.

    The Houston Astros, Chevrolet and Houston Area Chevy Dealers completed a successful 2014 season in the community by placing an emphasis on activities that supported Chevy Youth Baseball and members of the military. Among the highlights of the summer was Military Appreciation Night, where Chevrolet partnered with the Military Warriors Support Foundation and Wells Fargo to award a home to a wounded veteran at an Astros game.
