Eddie Vedder to rock the Metro at Hot Stove Cool Music Chicago benefit concert
Pearl Jam frontman and rock icon Eddie Vedder will take the stage at the fourth annual Hot Stove Cool Music Chicago benefit concert, July 9, at Wrigleyville's Metro. Vedder will join Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein, Hall of Fame baseball writer Peter Gammons and Chicago Cubs broadcaster Len Kasper as part of the all-star music lineup at the annual event celebrating music, baseball and giving back.
Cubs activate RHP Ramirez from 15-day DL, place LHP Wada on 15-day DL
The Chicago Cubs today activated right-handed pitcher Neil Ramirez off the 15-day disabled list and placed left-handed pitcher Tsuyoshi Wada on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 23) with left deltoid inflammation.
Cubs Select Contract of RHP Donn Roach, Option RHP Yoervis Medina to AAA
The Chicago Cubs today selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Donn Roach from Triple-A Iowa and have optioned right-handed pitcher Yoervis Medina to Triple-A. To make room for Roach on the 40-man roster, catcher Rafael Lopez has been designated for assignment.

Fourth of July weekend to feature fireworks at the Friendly Confines

The team will lead a celebratory toast to the enhanced Budweiser Bleachers July 3 and host military tributes and post-game fireworks inside Wrigley Field July 4. Kids Sundays continue July 5 with a youth giveaway and kids-run-the-bases post-game to complete the three-game series vs. the Miami Marlins.
