BALTIMORE -- Joe Maddon has now come out on the losing end of four consecutive challenges.

The latest came in the bottom of the fifth inning of Monday night's game at Camden Yards after Baltimore's Steve Lombardozzi grounded into a forceout at second base and was ruled safe at first, which prevented a double play.

Maddon left the Rays' dugout and chatted briefly with first-base umpire Greg Gibson before asking that the crew check out the replay.

After two minutes and 47 seconds, the call on the field stood.

"I got the word that it was a good attempt," Maddon said. "It was about the fifth inning when it occurred, there was a lot of stuff going on, you might as well take a shot right there."

The Rays are now 2-4 on challenges this season.
