DETROIT -- Astros manager Bo Porter successfully challenged a call on the field for the sixth time this season in the fourth inning of Thursday's game against the Tigers at Comerica Park.

The play came with two outs in the fourth inning and Detroit holding a 2-0 lead, when Austin Jackson hit a dribbler to second baseman Jose Altuve. Altuve threw to first baseman Jesus Guzman, and first-base umpire Mike Winters called Jackson safe. Porter came from the dugout immediately and challenged the call, which was overturned via instant replay review and ruled an out.

Porter is 6-for-8 in replay challenges this year.

Because the call was overturned, Porter retained his ability to challenge another play during the game. No manager may challenge more than two plays in a game. Once the manager has exhausted his ability to challenge plays during a game and after the beginning of the seventh inning, the crew chief may choose to invoke instant replay on any reviewable call.
