Rays announce Spring Training schedule

Pitchers, catchers to report to Port Charlotte on Feb. 19

10/16/09 12:29 PM ET

The 2009 postseason isn't over yet, but the Rays already know when their first taste of 2010 will be. Spring Training will officially start on Feb. 19 when pitchers and catchers report to Port Charlotte, Fla.

The Rays announced their '10 Spring Training schedule and ticket pricing for 15 home games at Charlotte Sports Park on Friday.

Tampa Bay will open its exhibition slate on the road against the Orioles on Wed., March 3, then at home against them the following day. The Rays' Grapefruit League home schedule will also include three games against the Red Sox (March 6, 16 and 30), as well as one game each against the Phillies (March 12) and Yankees (March 19).

Tampa Bay will also host the Mets at Tropicana Field on Fri., April 2 -- four days before opening up the regular season at home against the Orioles on the sixth. Ticket prices for that game will be announced at a later date.

In addition, the Rays will make their first visit to Durham, N.C., since 2002 when they play the Triple-A Durham Bulls on April 3 to conclude their Spring Training schedule.

Individual ticket prices for games at Charlotte Sports Park -- serving as the Rays' Spring Training home for the second season -- will go on sale in January and range from $8-$25, plus a $10 parking fee. According to a release by the team, season-ticket holders "will continue to receive significant savings compared to single-game prices."

Fans interested in placing a $50 deposit for Spring Training season tickets can do so by visiting www.raysbaseball.com or calling 888-FAN-RAYS.
