ST. PETERSBURG -- The good news came in the fact that Jason Bartlett did not break or fracture his right index finger.

The bad news comes in the unknown.

Bartlett was hit on the finger by Detroit's Fernando Rodney when he tried to lay down a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the 10th inning of Sunday's 6-5 Rays win. The Rays shortstop had to leave the game, and subsequent X-rays showed no break or fracture, which will leave Bartlett as a game-time decision Monday.

"Just have to wait and see what it feels like tomorrow," Bartlett said.

Should Bartlett not be able to go, the Rays have a couple of options. If Bartlett looks like he's going to miss any significant time, the Rays can put him on the disabled list and bring up Ben Zobrist to play shortstop. A short-term solution might see the Rays use third baseman Evan Longoria at shortstop and have Willy Aybar fill in at third.
