Guzman optioned to Triple-A
Rays infielder will man third for Durham this season
ST. PETERSBURG -- The Devil Rays optioned Joel Guzman to Triple-A Durham on Monday.
The 22-year-old infielder was acquired by the Rays, along with pitcher Sergio Pedroza, in a July trade last season that sent shortstop Julio Lugo to the Dodgers.
Guzman, who has 70 home runs in 538 Minor League games, hit .188 in 14 games this spring. He will be the third baseman in Durham.
