Rays at the plate: Ty Wigginton hit his first home run of the spring, a solo shot in the first off Phillies right-hander Adam Eaton, which sailed over the left-field scoreboard. Ben Zobrist had a two-out, two-run single in the fourth, and Rocco Baldelli added an RBI double to put the Rays up briefly, 4-3.

Phillies at the plate: Wes Helms hit a sacrifice fly against the Rays' Scott Kazmir in the first inning for his seventh RBI of the spring. Rod Barajas hit a two-run homer off Kazmir in the fourth inning, and Ron Calloway hit a grand slam off Dan Miceli in the fifth.

Rays on the mound: Kazmir allowed three earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two in four innings. In eight innings this spring, the left-hander has now surrendered eight runs in 8 1/3 innings.

Phillies on the mound: Eaton, who was on a 70-75 pitch count, started for the Phillies and allowed two earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. The right-hander, who is the likely No. 4 starter in the Phillies' rotation, has allowed three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings this spring.

Grapefruit League records: Phillies 6-7; Rays 1-12.

Up next: The Rays will travel to Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Fla., on Wednesday for a 7:05 p.m. ET contest against the Reds. Edwin Jackson will start for the Rays, and the right-hander is hoping to strengthen his case in becoming the team's No. 5 starter. Jackson will be followed by left-hander J.P. Howell and right-hander Brian Stokes, who are also in the hunt for the No. 5 spot, while right-handers Shawn Camp and Ruddy Lugo are also scheduled to pitch for the Rays. Right-hander Bronson Arroyo will start for the Reds.

The Phillies are off on Wednesday.
