Moderator: Thanks for joining the chat today. Rocco will be with us shortly.

LAURA_ROBINS: What was your best memory of this season?

Rocco Baldelli: Probably my first game of the season. Getting my first hit and beating the Red Sox in the bottom of the ninth.

LAURA_ROBINS: What are your thoughts on being selected as one of the best rookies?

RB: It's an honor to be selected as one of the top rookies in the league. It was a very good rookie class and Angel Berroa and Hideki Matsui are great players.

FSUChiefsgirl4u2luv: Hi Rocco. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment of this past season?

RB: I was proud that I was able to stay relatively consistent throughout the season.

JOHN_ENRIQUE: Where do you see the Rays next season and the next few years with such good, young talent coming through the farm system?

RB: We should be working toward becoming more competitive with the top teams in the AL East, and improving each year. I just see us going up.

SweetD4855: Hi Rocco! Great season! How have you been spending your time in the off season, and what do you plan on doing?

RB: I will be working out, hunting and relaxing a lot.

BenchDawg: What kind of experience was it being a rookie?

RB: It was a fun year. You get treated a little differently than you are used to, but everyone goes through it, so it's cool.

Robert-Ballard: How was it working with Lou Piniella?

RB: He's different from other managers I've worked with. He's a lot calmer and quieter on a day-to-day basis than I expected. And he surrounds himself with a top-notch staff.

bob-lowe: Are you disappointed that you didn't win the Rookie of the Year award?

RB: No, I didn't really expect anything, so you can't get too disappointed.

cbhatch: What is your offseason workout routine?

RB: It has to do with strength training, flexibility, speed training and eating right. And then I start my baseball up in January.

raysnjays: What MLB team did you follow as a kid?

RB: I followed the Red Sox more than any other team because Fenway was about 45 minutes from my house. I saw Roger Clemens pitch against Nolan Ryan one game. That was great.

alterity: Do you think you can produce a similar season next year?

RB: I'm going to say yes. And hopefully better. I am going to put effort into improving all parts of my game.

Moderator: That concludes the chat this afternoon. Thanks to Rocco for taking the time to answer some questions, and thanks to the fans for participating today.
